This is the second turning that was Accepted in the Anchorage Museum. The wood grain of the fir was raised by charing the wood, wire brushing it off, then recharing. I did this 3 times to raise the grain this much. Black and white gesso provided the visual effect. In contrast, I truned a small bown in the center. It stands on carved 3 legs.
Is there somewhere I can see your work in a better quality format please? this looks very interesting to me, but I can't really see any of the details (damn that 75kb limit!!).
Well, what can I tell you? Life in the wide world goes on much as if it has past age. Full of its own comings and goings, scarcely even aware of the existence of Hobbits..., ...for which I am very thankful.
