Torched Fir

This is the second turning that was Accepted in the Anchorage Museum. The wood grain of the fir was raised by charing the wood, wire brushing it off, then recharing. I did this 3 times to raise the grain this much. Black and white gesso provided the visual effect. In contrast, I truned a small bown in the center. It stands on carved 3 legs.
