Great use for a small piece of wood. On the next one you might make the finial a bit more decorative. What you've done is simple and very attractive. I just think you might be able to dress it up even more with a bit of design in your finial. Take a look at Chuck Breland's ring trees. He does a pretty nice job with them. Experiments are good things in turning. Play around with them and see what you think. 8-)
