My first try for the goblet challenge. The stem was a bit too short and too thick for the challenge but I was pretty happy with it for a first try. Russian Olive Approx. 6 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" in diameter. Sanded thru MM grits and finished with Formby's Tung Oil Finish.
Most of the Russian olive I have has a grain that is a little wide for making very fine stems. I've got a set of red wine glasses that I broke the stem off and turned new wooden stems. Blue glass and that dark cocoa wood. It looks so nice.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
