That's a super job Eric, I'm sure it will be well received.
On softening, I use mineral oil (baby oil) on a leather strop to keep it supple. If you had a spare tip it might be worth trying a tiny drop to see what happens.
I agree Jim, I really need to get serious about a photo box and a better camera with tripod. I had to go where I had the best light, and that was it. I knew I wouldnt be able to get anything better before giving it away lol
Did you end up scruffing up the cue tip with sandpaper?
