For your perusal, 2 3/4" tall, 6 1/4" wide Maple that has a bit of spalting, but the primary attraction is the tiger striping. I knew it was there from the start of the turning process. But, like so many features, it really showed up when the first coat of finish went on. Wow, that stripe really jumped out and grabbed me. Sides are a pretty consistent 1/16" with the bottom getting just a bit thicker. Finish is a wash of thinned lacquer, tung oil finish, and finally buffed with the Beall.
As usual, your questions, comments, and suggestions are encouraged.
Very nice basic bowl. I would like to see your treatment of the foot. In last weekends class Stu Batty made the point that there are not that many well turned, well finished basic bowls.
Thanks guys. TD, the bottom is a round bottom with a bit of a depression in the center so that it will sit still. If you would like a pic it can be arranged. 8-)
