my fingers are ok, i didnt came in Contact with the rim while the late revolved. Acacia can be "smoked" (i dont know the english definition in Austria we say "räuchern"). The rocess is following: Put the ready sanded piece in a plastic ton. In the same ton put a cup with a few drops of salmiak in it. The cover the ton and leave it over night. the salmiak will darken the heartwood while the sap stays light. This gives a wonderful contrast to some types of wood as Oak, Acacia,...
