Before you all beat me up about the log on top I want to say that it looked smaller efore I put it on top. I still dont have a chuck so I couldnt really make it any smaller and I didnt want to waste it!!!

Beautiful bowl and lid. To bad about the "log", it is as you said just to big for the piece. I've been there as well. Great Job on the rest of the piece.

The Redwood is outstanding, but the "knob" just doesn't do the redwood justice, IMHO it takes away from it, if it were mine I'd go with something black and alittle more on the slender side. The bowl and lid are just to beautiful to have that purpleheart knob for a handle.

Wizzy, Thats what I thought after it was on. After I get my new lathe and chuck I may take it off and put something else on there.
