6.25 H; Bowl 1 7/8 W; Bowl 1 3/16 H; Stem 4.25 and varies from 0.18 (3/16) to 0.22 top to bottom. Base is 1.5. Bowl thickness ranges from 0 at the rim to 1.8 at base.
A few shadows in the picture. Otherwise fairly representative. Personal challenges were the bowl shape, I succeeded; Stem got it to 3/16 at top; not bottom; Did not spin the bowl off or crush with tail stock pressure while doing the stem. Started sanding the bowl, base and stem at 240. Inside of bowl at 100.
Need to work on inside bowl and base. Learn to turn at higher speed to do stem.
I improved my skills on this one. I have a similar goblet turned last May in my album. This one shows vast improvement.
very nice I like it stnick I will proudly start my collection of turning form this challenge and others to come I hope. Glad to hear that you meet your personal challenges as did I in getting one complete that does not lay with the plie of broken one. GOOD JOB
Overall I'd say I like what you did. The biggest suggestion I'd make would be to deal with the transition from stem to base. Your stem to cup transition is great. Match the two a bit more and I think you have a fantastic piece. 8)
Doug, I see what you are talking about. I will have to give the execution of your thought serious consideration. I did the whole stem on this one, worrying about the small area below the cup. Sounds like I need to turn and not worry.
