Made a couple of souvineer bowls for my daughters. The class I taught on turning techniques went well and was I rewarded with a sample of the wood from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
I've not heard of the wood prior to your post but it sure is some pretty stuff. Makes a guy want to vacation there for something other tan the water and beaches! You did an outstanding job with some exceptional wood.
Nice job Frank, we have a species of Mahoe in NZ, "Meticytus ramiflorus" it is considered of no interest, it was used by the Maoris to make charcoal, also for fire lighting by rubbing a piece against another native species "Kaikomako"
