Fine form on a pretty piece of wood Frank. Can you refresh my memory...does Magnolia have a very thin bark?

The southern Magnolia has a very homogenious bark that can expand and contract depending moisture content of the tree. It is more like memosa than any oak or pine. That storm was six years ago and i cut the tree 2 years ago, hence the spalting and loose bark.
