This is an oak vase I turned using a technique Dale Nish calls "revers turning". This one I didn't make a long neck on but the opening at the top is only a quarter of an inch wide.
It stands about eight inches tall by around four inches wide. Finished with several coats of lacquer.
Thanks all. It is kind of strange wood to turn. Green it cuts easy but likes to peel off in chunks. The other thing is that the vertical lines aren't cracks, they are part of the grain.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
