Scrub Oak Vase

Here's another "revers turning" made from some scrub oak I salvaged from my father in-law's. It stands about seven inches tall and is about five inches wide. Finished soft with one coat of Danish oil. It cracked, especially when it hit the floor when the first attempt and gluing the plug in failed. I still love it and the top looks like a flower when you look down from the top.

I think we all have a special little piece, not necessarily a stunner, but one we enjoyed making and just love the look & feel of it, & yes I too have droped a couple of my favourite pieces & despite the noticable joints I still have them in pride of place Thumbs Up!
