Box is unknown wood, finial is ebony & unknown wood, blackened with a sharpie and polished with carnauba wax. 8 1/8" OA, box is 3 1/4"W X 3 1/8"T, finished with CA and carnauba-wax.

Thanks folks, I wish I knew what wood it is, my son gave it to me several years ago and that was up in VA. It "was" gonna be fire wood for the winter but when I saw the grain I brought it all home with me when we returned. Problem is, he hasn't gotten any more like it sense.
