I plucked a bit of wood from my cousin's wood pile while I was at his house for his mother's funeral. I turned this when I got back and I'll be sending it to him after I finish off a bowl from another chunk I picked up. It is nine inches tall and four inches wide. Finished with Danish oil.
Very nice piece, I also use a lot of firewood some pieces I just don't have the heart to burn. Amazing how you can get wood that thin (paper thin. Do you know what type of wood this is?
The wood came from a branch that broke off of his locust tree this last winter. I'm not sure what variety but I love the yellow sapwood next to the read heartwood.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
