Carob Bowl

Carob bowl, 6 3/8" dia. x 3" tall, 1/4" wall thickness. Sanded to 600, buffed & finished with antique oil & briwax. This was the first demo I did in class with John. I finally got around to finishing it.

Nice bowl. Beautiful wood. Is that a little chip missing near the rim in the red part of the wood? It looks good like that. The wood defect gives it even more character. Well done.

Thanks Glenn, actually the red part you mentioned is a small bit of bark edge that I left in. You can see that I put the bowl off axis to get the grain to go diagonally and in doing so I got to incorporate a bit of bark in the rim.
