Well it's been quite a while since I posted some turnings, since I've been up to my armpits in painting the past year or so, but finally THAT'S done, and I can once again enjoy turning. Here's my latest piece turned from a nice piece of Willow. it measures 11" in diameter x 5 1/4" high. Dried over 1 year in my shop, and just completed TODAY! It's nice to be back
Very nice. I've heard a lot of people say they hate working with willow. I just picked up a bunch more and I actually like it. I'll also get a bunch more when spring comes.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
Hi guys, Paul, to answer your question I used Minwax' Wipe on poly. The year it took to dry was mostly because I have been painting my kitchen cupboards and between that & distractions of home life, it took me that long to finish and finally get back to what I love. I have about a dozen projects on the shelf waiting their turn to be finished. Also, I learned that it's always best to take your time and not rush the finishing process.

Very nice work, Bert. Looks like the foot is a touch long, but that's a personal opinion and others may simply love it. Your curve and finish are great. Looks like it may well be one of your very best works to date. Well done. 8^)
