Pecan Shaving Set

Had an idea to create a Louisiana gift item, so I decided to use Pecan wood salvaged after Hurricane Gustav (2008). The badger hair brush (top) and soap cup (bottom) have an uncirculated LA quarter fixed to seal the deal. This model uses the Mach3 blades. All wood came from the same blank. Comments and critiques are welcomed.

Very nice. I saw similar hardware in the new PSI catalog and it looked like a fun project. We don't have pecan trees in the North country, but we sure had them in Central TX where I grew up.

Very nice. Are these meant to be used on a daily basis or are they more for show? Either way, they are very cool. If for use, I'm interested in what your finish is so that it will stand up to all the water. 8-)
