I made this bowl for my sisters birthday. She liked the Stone look I used on a previous piece so I made her one. I considered painting part of the inside because of some cracks, but decided to leave it alone. It's a pretty big boy at 14" dia. X 6" tall.
Finished inside with Tung Oil and Beall buffed. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome,

Another beuaty Don, nice work, love the outside paint job. Gives me some ideas, thanks for sharing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ruining lots of good wood to get a few average bits.
Thanks so much, guys! My sister has a lot of my stuff by now. I'm hoping she can use this as a center piece somewhere. Hope it makes it to NJ OK. Last week I shipped the maple and cocobolo pedestal tray I made to California and the Post Office smashed it. What a damn shame.

Dang Don,thats a dang shame about that piece gettin busted up,as I remember,it was really beautifull piece.Did nyou have it insured? and can it be repaired.Real nice piece here to.
Thanks Ken. Yea, the center piece snapped and broke at both places top and bottom. I had it insured, but the top and bottom pieces are supposedly OK. I haven't seen it yet. The Post Office said they'll take the whole thing, so it will be gone. I'll have to have it shipped back and fix it, then ship it back. Can't collect any insurance that way. Bummer.

The wood is gorgeous. The interior has very appealing streaking. Real nice shape too. Isn't it a bear to take all the time & effort , and then get it smashed in shipping?. UGH, it's depressing.
Yea, Michelle, that one really hurt. Every piece of work is like a little piece of me and to see it smashed was a real bummer.
This wood was a huge piece of firewood I got from a neighbor. I couldn't burn it.
