Some boxes that I've turned along with a mushroom for good measure. Glossy ones finished with friction polish the others are tung oil. Some of the boxes are African Mahogony, Kibakoko and some are Chechen(Carribean Rosewood) along with one Yew box. The mushroom is of course Yew. A poor photo I will try to get a better one taken.
Chris, it is an african wood. Unfortunately I am finding it very difficult to find more information on it. Anthonotha fragrans.
I get a 2x2x24 blank of it for $6 at woodcrafters here in Portland. Turns nicely.
Gil, Yew is one of the more pleasant woods that I've turned. Someone told me that it was a very difficult wood to turn, but they must have never turned it before...lol.
