Maple Vase

This maple piece was going to go in the wood pile because of a large hole that went right through it. Tried it anyway and this is how it came out. There is a glass tube that goes right through the center and it just missed the hole. Cool! About 9" tall and finished with Tung Oil and Beall buffed. Great save! I think it would be amazing if we could only know how may beautiful pieces get tossed into the fireplace because somebody "thought" the log was useless. I'm sure I've done it as well. This is a lovely piece. I might have thinned the the neck a bit more, but love it the way you have it. Great work. 8-)
