This another look I tried for the eccentric bowls I've been messing with. The chatoyance of the maple shows up a little in the photo, but in person it even shines through the blue quite well. This one is the biggest so far at 13" dia. X 3" tall. Finished with Tung Oil and Beall buffed. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
don, if i could give it a 12 i would! the colors blend nicely together, and the dark circles really set it off. may i ask, how to you seperate the colors without them wanting to blend together?(especially around the edge)
Brian - The blue is dye, the black and orange are markers. I believe they're called Dual Brush Markers by Tombow. They're very good two ended markers that almost never bleed. Highest rating.
Thanks so much for the comments, Don L.
Don, I've really been enjoying your postings of late. Your movement to the use of color, off center, wood burning and texturing have provided us all with something a bit different and each have been a great addition to your porfolio. Wondedrful stuff...Bill...
Very nice. Your work, the colors, the wood, all working together to make a lovely piece. I'm not sure I ever saw your reply on an earlier pic, are you using an eccentric chuck or screw chuck in different locations?
Hi Rev! Yea, I use a screw chuck in different places. They're petty close together. Only about 1" to 1-1/4" from the center hole on average.
Thanks for the kind comments, Don L.
