Black ash burl finished with two coats DO containing scarlet transtint dye. Then several coats of wipe-on poly.

Size is 5.5 inch by 5 inches tall. Walls 1/4 inch.

I live in an area with black ash, but have never seen a burl..must not look up often enough! Spectacular!

The dye really makes the grain pop. It is fanastic on curly wood. I have tried both alcohol base and water base dye, but never got then to work for me.

I now mix a minute amount with a couple of ounces of DO. I just wipe it on, let it dye and lightly sand two times before going to straight DO or wipe-on poly.
