First Lighthouse

First Lighthouse

I've been turning for about a year now. Last year when I did this first lighthouse it was because I'd volunteered to make it as and award in memory of a very active member of our boating group that had passed away. For about six months I lamented the decision since I had no idea how I was going to do it. As with many things, once I get started, it becomes more fun and by the end of the project I was really into the craft. So, of course, I bought a new lathe, built some segment cutting sleds for my table saw and haven't looked back. I'll post some more recent photos as I've made 7 since then and have one in the shop getting close.
