Blue Eccentric Bowl

This is another version of an off center bowl. Cherry wood. Your eyes are OK, the bowl itself is off center also. Guess I was in a blue mood when I made it. 9" dia. X 2" tall. Finished with Tung Oil and Beall buffed. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.

this is interesting as it affects the integrity of the bowl..on my monitor the bowl is green! so I can't comment on the blue! If the blue is the very dark outside color,it appears black on my monitor..it makes the bowl depressing...(my monitor is for______. So what I can comment on is: I think you are exploring new methods, and I want to ride along & see where it takes you. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Michelle! Yea, it's all blue alright. Just a very thin black line around the very edge to help frame or contain all the blue. I really wasn't happy with it till that little line was added. I had a request for a blue bowl, that's why those colors were chosen.

My monitor also shows the primary color as green. I would not have characterized it as a "blue" bowl. I can tell that the other color is blue (my monitor is pretty good) but I think the green is a bit more powerful. I think it's pretty, just would not describe it as blue.

You're right Cathy and Michelle. I asked a couple friends who indeed said the light color is green. I used all blue colors, but when the light blue hit the wood it changed over to green. They both said it still works though. This color stuff drives me nuts, but I still love it.

don, STOP IT!! you are really making the rest of us look bad! lol, just kidding, i really like the color combinations, although i'm not sure about the texturing. either way i can see there are tons of great possiblities, and can't wait to see the next incarnation.

Hi Ville! This one was colored off the lathe with Dual Brush markers by Tambow (really nice). They are all blue markers; light , med and dark. When the markers hit the wood, the color must have changed a bit. Being color blind I couldn't tell, hence the "Blue" in the title. At least they tell me it still looks OK.lol
