Looks like you did well with it. I like to see a pretty clear piece of wood from time to time with a nice design. So often we overlook a poor design when the wood is so very interesting. Great job. 8-)

I've done a few pieces with this type of rim detail and I think it works well. I've stretched it out on some platters which works well but if it gets too thin, not so much.
Kinda figure I'll use it as a signature detail where it looks good.
