Very nice work here, Rick. I've got a OO piece on the lathe now that has bug tunnels in it. Seems they are still alive. I picked up the chunk of wood the other day and there was a small pile of yellow dust beside it. Won't be alive long though. They don't tend to survive a bowl gouge. If I'm not sure that I get it, I'll microwave it a minute to make real sure.
Did you buy the epoxy colored, or did you color it? 8)
Rev, don't forget your faceshield on that piece. Gouged bugs tend to splatter a bit! I colored the epoxy with a couple of drops of black acrylic paint. Found a 2 oz. bottle made for touch ups and such. Works great. Other colors are probably available. It's easier for me than coffee grounds, but lacks the texture.
