Thank you, all. Brad- you're right: I need to edit my descriptions a bit....
Frank- a spitoon, but only for those with excellent aim: it's 3" in height, flat bottom, and I think it's elm. It's a woodpile piece left over from the base of the pen holder a couple of photos back. Again, thanks, all, for the comments. Bob
