Well, here is another cedar piece. I finally got to try my steady rest and Monster Hollowing System out. They both worked perfectly. So nice to buy tools that actually do what they say. What a pleasure it was to make this. The laser really helped out a lot too. The vase stands 16-1/2" tall. It's hollowed out to the same shape as the exterior.
Finished with Tung oil and Beall buffed.

Cedar just begs to be turned the way the grain seems to just flow around the curves like trails from a cloud, and you did an amazing job of bringing that out! Very elegant.
I like it, very pleasing shape. The only critique would be that I think base is a bit too small. I would make it the same dia. as the top, give or take.
