Carob hollow form with the natural bark edge surronding the opening. 5 1/8" dia. x 4 1/16" tall, 1/4" wall thickness. I left the wall thicker than I normall do to be able to save and use the natural edge to enhance the opening.
This one is just too cool. The combonation of wood, shape, design, and tool work has indeed produced a fine piece of work. Where have you found all the time to get all this work done? You are indeed doing a fine job with these pieces. Thanks again. 8)
Thanks Keith & thanks Rev, this was a really challenging piece to hollow without disrupting the bark edge. I actually roughed this one out a month ago and then finish turned it last week. The last 5 days the finish has been setting up so today was simply cut back, buff & hand polish.
I really like the shape and curves. Of course, the wood colors are helpful, and it looks a lot bigger than it actually is. It was very lucky to happen upon that tree.
