This bowl is a small part of a few large bark slabs that were laying in the mud at a local backwoods saw mill waiting for the fire pile. This is what was underneath. I love those guys! It's spalted and figured maple, 13" dia.X 4" tall. The bottom is raised just a tad so the bowl doesn't sit flat. Finished with Tung Oil and Renaissance wax. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Thanks Robert! I just found this saw mill in the Yellow Pages. Sometimes I buy a whole tree from him, sometimes I just get some free stuff he was going to have to burn anyway in HUGE fire where he burns his waste wood. I have to make him a bowl soon to say thanks.
