This became my brother's Christmas present. I finished this one with Minwax paste wax. I've come to love the feel of a wax finish over the Verathanes and varnishes. I can also take the piece into the house and show it off sooner.
Robert,
All three of your Chestnut pieces are very nice.
I would have liked to have seen the curve accelerate and continue throught the bottom on this one.
I think you showed the wood grain in a great piece.
Tom, I can see your point. At this time I consider myself as being in a utilitarian, craftsman stage. As I become more confident on how far I can push the different woods and develop a style, I expect I'll at some time transition to pieces that are more designed and artistic.
Thanks for the comment though. I keep all of the comments in the back of my head and take them to heart. Keep them coming.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
Very nice indeed, I didn't notice the curve point until I read the above advice, which will help me also. Nice job
Ruining lots of good wood to get a few average bits.
