Pear and poplar 7" x 3.5". Hate to lead the week with what "I" consider one of my best. However, it has a Christmas type feel and coloring. Every one in this series started as a shattered piece ready for the proverbial woodpile, this particular pear turning was caught (OUCH) and shattered.. Some CA glue and (creative?) dremal tool work smoothed out the edges. I then thought to make it into a TRUN piece, but it looked to interesting to leave well enough alone. Out come the stem holders for the top and bottom of the finial. A natural pear top piece and a whole lot of air brushing (second attempt) and a piece you can love (me) or hate (my son).
Compliments are candy, nice but unnecessary.
Criticisms are food for growth.
That's about as cool as cool gets. Talk about a save. I love these kind of pieces. I especially like the pointy bottom next to the curved legs with only one support holding them on. Very nicely done, Bill!
