Tulip Poplar bowl with the top rim torched. I saved the cool grain for the bottom and burnt the rim to add something to what was pretty boring grain. Then sanded it down slightly to let a little show through. 9.5" dia X 2" tall. Finished with tung oil and Bealle buffed.
All comments welcome and thanks for looking, Don L.
Don, your's must be one of the steepest learning curves I have ever seen! This is another beautiful piece. Are you sure you didn't forget to tell us about the other 20 years you were turning?
Thanks so much guys! It's actually been about 6 or 7 months now that I've been seriously turning (since I got the Powermatic). I just wish it didn't take me 54 years to find my true passion. It's not work, it's really become a way of life. It really helps me put the cancer thing on the back burner too. What a God send it's been to find something so positive. Thanks again! Don L.
U dun it agen, lovely piece Don. You've been turning for about the same time as I have, but your quality is much higher than mine. I must try to catch you up..
Ruining lots of good wood to get a few average bits.
