Wow, Jack. Too bad we can't culture that kind of wood. It is great what burl wood can do. But then this piece goes and has feather, spalt, curl, and a bit of straight grain. This is indeed a special piece of wood. Your turning of it is pretty special too. I imagine that you really took your time and worked the shape carefully. The rim is exquisite. Curves are dead on. The ancient Greeks could not have done it better. Don't know if you plan to keep it or sell it, but it sure does deserve public exposure. Needs to be in the 2010 calendar for sure. If you have it next June it needs to go to the AAW symposium too. You have a definite collectors piece there. Way to go. 8-)

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Nature did a great job on this piece of wood. It always amazes me to find what she has hidden in a chunk of wood like this, waiting for use to find .
