This is cherry burl with a cocobolo stem and finial. It is 7" wide and 12" tall. The finish is wipe-on poly on the burl and just wax on the stem and finial. The burl was buffed out with the three step beall system.
Great wood choices Bob. Each piece seems to compliment the other with no competition for the eye. Love the form and that Cherry Burl was treated just right. The finial is outstanding. You Sir have become a true "artist in wood". Hope to get close to your skill/talent level one of these days...Bill..
Thanks every body,.......Bill your talking crazy I'm just an average turner at best, having fun with wood.I'm sure I could learn a lot from you
It's the wood that makes it good
Bob, your definition of 'average' and mine are very different. I agree with Bill, you left 'average' behind a long time ago and, whether you believe it or not, your work is inspirational, and aspirational, for many here.
But you are not alone, Bill is up there with you, whether he believes it or not.
very nice piece, Bob. You did a great job, not only with the combination of woods, but the style of your HF, base, and finial are great. This is a lovely piece. You can be very proud of this one. 8-)
