Oh, wow! You don't find curly walnut every day. I like that you kept the form open so that more of the grain could be shown off. I've turned a few of this form, but thinking of a slight change. I have in mind to allow the bowl to come up through the square portion, even just a little bit. I'm thinking that the slight protrusion of the bowl will give the piece more flow. Stopping the bowl at the square part seems to stop the flow of the piece as well. 8-)

I wish I could find some walnut firewood. Not too much walnut in Connecticut and no one would dream of cutting it for firewood.

I agree with you Rev. It should protrude from the rim a little bit. this piece goes to my Doctor friend who is buying all of my "practice" pieces.
