I've heard of this tree, but really didn't know anything about it until just now. WOW! Sounds like we need to turn this stuff our of existence. FL is being over run with it. In fact, it is considered a noxious weed there.
I do like your form. I'm wondering if this is the natural color of this wood. Looks to have a dark wash on it that's been sanded off. Could be used as some interesting hilights in certain instances. 8-)
Doug, No wash or dye used. These limbs had been cut several weeks when I got them and was already spalted. I think the lighter color is the natural color of the wood. I have a couple other pieces that is almost black in spots. It colors up in places kind of like buckeye burl.
