I'm lovin' it. This is one of the best reasons to turn wood on the lathe. You did a great job. I'm assuming that historically they would take this and wrap some rope around it to form a sling? Probably a large cork or wood plug in the opening? Anywhere close to correct? 8-)

Thanks Doug. Actually, the opening on a real canteen is on the side. They are made in pieces. I just liked the overall shape and look of the canteen and the fact that it is made from wood. Borrowed the shape and turned it on its side
