Spaulted maple Christmas Ornament

About 4" tall. Turned and carved. Experimental piece to see how thin I could get the spindles. They ended up at about 3/16" wide and 1/8" thick. Finish is funky looking because the piece got too fragile to sand any more. It actually compressed like a spring.

Yeah, looks like you got the thinnest right in the middle. Very cool ornament. More work than most of us would be willing to put into it. I bet it will begin a lot of conversations that start, "How in the World?" Excellent. 8-)
