Finally got back to turning some more Red Cedar after conquering the finish problems I was having with this wood. This piece is 12 1/2" X 7" and took 6 coats of gloss wipe on poly. Buffed with White diamond and wax.
your not kidding about the finish. cedar is a nightmare to get a high gloss on. another excellent piece, and i love the subtle texturing around the rim.
Yup Rev. I started sealing all the knots and curly grain with CA just prior to starting finish sanding. I've one piece in the shop for 4 months and still looks the same...Bill..
