This is a Horister burl that I got a year ago last November at a club meeting from Jim Syvertsen and I finally got the inspiration to turn it about a month ago and finished it the other day. The hollow form is about 9" x 3" but the over all height is 9" with the African Blackwood finial and stem.The finish is my usual several(4 or 5) coats wipe-on poly than buffed. just wax on the stem and finial
There must be some way, with technology being what it is now, that you can put your finger on one of Bob's pictures and suck out all the knowledge and skill that went into making the piece.
