Wormy spalted maple

This piece of wood started out as a small platter but came apart making the finished cuts. So this is what I came up with.
Materials: Wormy spalted maple, bloodwood and ebony finial and base, ebony venier.
Measurments: 8"W X 9"T X 3" D

Beautiful piece! Don't know if it's just an optical illusion or what, but the finial and base look like they don't line up perfectly. Nice piece though.
