Very cool!!! Was the 'swoosh' cut in before it was turned to final thickness or after? I am trying to think which one would be scarier to me!?!?!?!

Beautiful work. I was wondering about the cutout too. Was part of it already missing or did you cut into a perfectly round piece? Just poking a little fun with you, of course. I would like to know if there was a void that you eliminated though. You have produced a great piece. Sounds like you have a real nice gloss finish going. It was interesting to see that it was maple. Without you telling us and just going off the picture I would guess that it was camphor. Great wood and great work. A fantastic piece. 8-)

Paul, I agree with everything said above but what really strikes me is the black inside the swoosh. The contrast between the interior and exterior really makes the design stand out. Is the inside dyed black or is it just the lighting. George
