Left box, right finial. The ash is just a bit lighter in weight. Your finish looks pretty nice too. Add about 3-4 more coats of DO before buffing and you'll really have a nice finish. Keep it up. I think you may have found a niche that fits you really well. Just curious, how long did it take you to turn these 4 boxes? 8-)

Rev- it took about 30-45 minutes of turning per box. I did most of the hollowing with a 2 1/8" forstner bit and then cleaned up the bottom with a scraper. The curve of the lids I went pretty slow and sharpened often since it was end grain and got very little tear-out. There was a lot of re-mounting but I got pretty quick at the end. Really loved doing these. Working on a larger one now with Walnut and Maple...
