Bill, you've probably told us, but what grit are you sanding with between coats?
This is beautiful. I would agree that it was worth the extra effort it took. 8-)
Rev,I use 400 blackpaper with water until I reach the second to last coat. I then switch to 1500 black wet for the finial sanding. No sand marks under the finish with the 1500...Bill..
Thanks Bill. I've been using 400 and getting some nice results. I may not be getting enough coats of finish on though. I'm going more by look than by number of coats. Am I right in thinking that you're not buffing? Or are you? 8-)
I am buffing with the 3 wheel sys Rev. I don't usually count coats unless it is just curiosity. Just go by the look of the piece. I have been having some great luck using minwax high gloss spray on the final coat. It even feels different. I did a final coat of the spray on this one because of all the sanding I had to do. Just did not feel like a flat level surface till I sprayed on a final heavy coat...Bill..
