here is a close-up of the 17 piece inlay. this is my first attempt at marquetry. i ripped all the bible pieces on the bandsaw to 1/32" then i drew out the design, and cut them with a razor knife. i used a woodburner to shade around the cross, and under the ribbon. i also used sand shading on the pages to give them depth. then i covered everything with a two part epoxy. afterwards i turned everything flush, sanded and lacquered.
