Tall cedar hf backside

Almost threw this out at the very beginning.After getting the bark off I discovered a huge check that went nearly full length and all the way to the pith. Packed the check with cedar sanding dust and ca in layers. I was kinda surprized it held together for hollowing. I was also called away while hollowing and it sat on the lathe for days just half done. Went out of round so there was a lot of tool jumping around the last few inches. Afraid I chickened out and only hollowed down about 11 3/4". But it does make a nice steady base...Bill..
