This was a wormy, 30 yr old bit of firewood that was to be a 6" bowl but ended up as this. Very hard wood of unknown type, wax finish 4"x 2.75". I was determined to get something out of the wood for a friend who was trying to help out with my wood supply. Not great but best I could get out of the wood.
Not bad at all. In fact, I think you did a great job with some inferior wood. Sometimes it not how much of the wood we can hang on to, but how much we need to get rid of in order to find that nice piece of work hidden within. Great work. 8-)
Looks like spring has come to Ireland and the shop has warmed a bit! Lovely piece B, I think the foot really adds a bit of a punch to the form...Bill...
When I started the wood was about 13" x 10", it just about cleared the bed. It looked like a bit of crotch and had splits and faults everywhere. I turned it carefully but had to lever a few pieces off before they flew.
Bill, it's quite pleasant here, low 40's and comfortable to work.
