Winged Box

This was turned for a challenge over at WOW. Theme was "Winged Boxes". This is 12"x6.5"x3". Wood is Zebra wood and finish is Mahoneys Oil. All comments welcome.

As the others have said, great imagination. I know you had to make a decision, but I can't help but wonder if it would not have been even better with the grain oriented 90 degrees clockwise. Cool piece either way. Curious, did you cut or carve the wings, beak, and tail? 8-)
